Innovation in Sustainable Growing, Food Access, Food Products, and the Tech to Make it All Happen
Addressing the challenges of sustainably feeding astronauts on deep space missions will help feed Earth, particularly food deserts. NASA and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) have launched the Deep Space Food Challenge; Space for Food, a coalition of St. Louis stakeholders, is here to help aligned innovators whether they want their work to go into space with NASA and CSA, stay here on Earth, or do both.
Space for Food is an initiative of The Yield Lab Institute, an agtech think tank and the non-profit arm of the Yield Lab, a global agtech venture capital firm and a leader in accelerating food and agtech innovations and startups. Space for Food will support Controlled Environment Agriculture, Circular and Regenerative Agrifood systems, Food production in extreme conditions, Biomaterial Production and Use, Cellular and Fermentation Agtech startups, researchers, and resource providers in both the Deep Space Food Challenge and beyond through:
